The pancakes (they're called wheatcakes here) were delicious and fluffy. Best pancakes I've had in a while. I had a stack of three with bacon and sausage. So filling and yummy! Staff were lovely too, such genuine and amazing people

The Sunshine Restaurant sits on a busy corner but its location is not a reflection of this breakfast spot. Once you walk it, you feel like you have gone back in time to a classic diner. Simple, yet elegant. The dishes are all the classic breakfast meals (including a lunch menu on the back). We had the Country Skillet and Mexican Skillet. Both of which were amazing! This was our time coming here and it will not be our last. Great food. Great atmosphere. Great people.

1st time here and yet I've passed this place at least a couple of thousand times over the years. Went in today and Wow! Excellent Hidden gem of an old school ma & pa dinero. Looks dated but so well maintained , clean and spotless. Husband and wife team. The food was way better than I anticipated and as simple as it was, the service by the Mrs was excelente , the New York strip & eggs is highly recommended..... I guarantee you'll be back, I know I will.. __________________________ Today 7/11/24 I came back for breakfast again and this time I ordered the skirt steak and wow wow wow!! It was amazing ! Soo freaking good- Tender. Juicy and oh so flavorful! With eggs and hashbrowns. The owner Vicki and her husband own and operate this Hidden gem... if you're in the neighborhood it's right on the corner of Elston and Kedzie... you'll be very pleased and your tummy will be happy this place is great bang for your buck

I've driven past here many times. I had 3 eggs over medium (perfect), hash browns (perfect), bacon ( just right), toast (perfect), coffee ( not strong). Staff ( polite). Overall experience I will be returning.

When you walk in you immediately feel that someone loves this place very much. Everything is clean, well ordered, and clearly cared for. The griddle, which is where most of the food is made, is right in the front of the 10 seat counter's swivel seats. Service was quick but unhurried. The waitress clearly knew many of the patrons as she asked after what had happened since they were in last. Food was amazing. The skillet was tasty and the coffee better than most. I can't believe I've never been to this place. I can't wait to come back.

It was quiet and Noone was there. The cook/owner asked if I was getting my car fixed up the road and I said, 'Yes, how did you know?' I guess most people do this and go have a bite while the car is being serviced. The food was good. Ordered 2 eggs over easy, bacon, hash browns and toast. They even had my orange marmalade. Coffee was good too. Great price for a good meal and nice conversation. The owners explained how they leave for Greece late summer and I found a new destination to visit thanks to them. As soon as I was finished eating 4 other people showed up. More people should eat here, more often.

Came in with my girlfriend on a Saturday for the first time before going to work. I had the skirt steak and eggs while she had a veggie skillet. The steak was amazing. Very flavorful and on point. My girlfriend was impressed with her skillet. The veggies were fresh. Not over cooked, and full of flavor. Definitely coming back for more. Highly recommended.
